Joseph J. Dalesio Jr., 85, of North Providence passed away peacefully on June 14th, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Sr. and Alice (Malo) and his late wife Olivia. His is survived by 6 children, Wayne Dalesio and his wife Carolyn, Jacquelyn Dalesio, Richard and his wife Deborah, Michael and his wife Maureen, Lori Dalesio and Lisa Gavlick and her husband Paul. His is survived by his twin brother Gerard and his wife Janet. He leaves 10 grandchildren and the late Michael Lenker. He also leaves 11 great-grandchildren.

Born in North Prov., he lived most of his life in Pawtucket. He retired from Ciba Geigy Co., however his most memorable and enjoyable work was that of taxi driver for Quality Cab. Highly intelligent, and a great conversationalist with a vast store of knowledge, especially of history and the teachings of The Catholic Church, there was not a Civil or World War battle about which the intimate details he did not know. If you were fortunate enough to ride in taxi #22 with him, you probably learned something you didn’t know.

He enjoyed family gatherings and was often the last one at the dinner table before the card games began. He loved all animals and would help any in need. He rescued many homeless cats over his lifetime.

He will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, June 17th from 9:00 – 10:15am at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to PawsWatch Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 7005, Warwick, RI 02887.
